Return & Refund Policy
At the Randolph Community College Campus Store, we want our students to be successful and satisfied with their purchases.
If you receive any item that is damaged or defective, please notify us as soon as possible so we can make it right.
Textbooks & Course Materials
- A student ID and class schedule are preferred at the time of purchase to ensure you buy the correct materials.
- Textbooks and course materials may be returned within 14 calendar days from the purchase date shown on your receipt.
- A receipt is required for all returns and refunds.
- Items must be returned in the same condition as purchased:
- Books sold in shrink wrap must still be sealed.
- Bundled items must include all parts and components.
- Courseware, software, and access codes are nonrefundable if opened, redeemed, or activated.
- eBooks purchased through VitalSource Bookshelf are eligible for return within 2 weeks (14 days) of purchase, provided they have not been accessed or activated.
- After 14 days of the purchase date, course materials are no longer eligible for return or exchange.
Computers & Electronics
- Laptops, computers, software, and electronics cannot be returned if opened or tampered with.
- Each laptop purchased through the Campus Store includes a manufacturer’s warranty (minimum one year).
- Warranty or repair issues will be handled directly through the manufacturer (DELL).
- The Campus Store can assist by providing manufacturer contact information if needed.
- Unopened electronics may be returned within 14 days of purchase date.
General Merchandise
- Non-textbook merchandise (apparel, gifts, supplies, etc.) is eligible for return within 14 days of purchase, with a receipt.
- Items must be in original, salable condition.
- The following items are non-refundable:
- Computers, software, and electronics
- Film and photography supplies
- Clearance items
- Consumable products (e.g. food, drink, etc.)
- Custom-printed or special order items (such as uniforms of scrubs)
Refund Methods
- Refunds will be issued using the original method of payment.
- Purchases made with cash will be refunded in cash.
- Purchases made with credit/debit cards will be refunded to the same card used for the original purchase.
- Purchases made with financial aid or bookstore vouchers will be credited back to the original account.
- No cash refunds will be issued for purchases originally made by card, check, or voucher.
- Please allow 3–5 business days for card refunds to appear on your account.
Book Buyback Policy
- A valid photo ID (preferably a student ID) is required for all book buyback transactions.
- All sales are final.
- Rental textbooks may not be sold back. If a rented book is sold during buyback, it will not count as returned, and the student will be charged the full replacement cost as outlined in the rental agreement.
- Buyback prices are set by third-party wholesalers and vary based on national demand.
